Sexual health services provided by Barking Havering & Redbridge NHS University Trust have changed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

All sexual health services are currently delivered at Outpatients East Barking Community Hospital. Our clinics at Team 5, Queens Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic and Hainault Health Centre are closed until further notice.

We are now operating a booked service only (please see below for exceptions who can continue to walk-in). Appointments can be booked by telephone on the appointment line 020 8924 6674 - Monday to Friday from 0800-1600.

The following patients can continue to walk-in without an appointment during clinic opening hours which are currently Monday to Friday from 0900-1700:

• Under 18 years of age
• Have been sexually assaulted
• Had sexual exposure to HIV within the last three days
• In need of emergency contraception
• Pregnant

Sexual Health London (SHL) provides a free & confidential online STI testing service for residents of most London boroughs, including Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and Havering.

This service is suitable for patients who are asymptomatic, over 16 years of age, with no other sexual health concerns.  If appropriate please direct your patients to www.bhr.shl.uk.

We provide discreet, professional services at our centres across east London. Our services are fast, free, confidential - and on your doorstep. There are two specialist centres at Whitechapel and Stratford, and a number of local satellite clinics on your doorstep across Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest. Our sexual health centres are professional, friendly and discreet. You’ll be dealing with professionals, who won’t be judging your lifestyle or the choices you make.

We offer free contraception as well as testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). You don’t need to make an appointment, and any test results are given to you as quickly as possible – sometimes on the same day.

If you want sexual health advice or you are worried that you might have a sexually transmitted infection, then please come and see us. Our health advisors are extremely experienced, down to earth, and will be happy to help. We see people who are straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, working in the sex trade, under 16… whoever you are, and whatever your concern, we are here to support you with practical services and independent advice.

Our clinical team is at the cutting edge of sexual health research and we often have a number of research studies on offer. These include looking at ways of getting treatment to people online; new ways of helping sex partners of people with STIs to get treated quickly and easily; evaluations of new STI tests; and HIV prevention studies.

At most of our centres, you can just walk in – no appointment required. Or if you prefer, you can reserve a slot online – this will save you time on the day.

Please only use All East if your home postcode comes under LB of Redbridge, LB of Waltham Forest, LB of Newham or LB of Tower Hamlets, as they will only take patients who live in an East End London Borough.
